Shinpiden Reiki Master & Teacher Training Combine Course

Four immersive days to deepen your practice and learn to share Reiki with others

Find your true bright light. Discover how to share it.

There may come a point in your Reiki journey when you feel ready to explore more deeply. You want to understand the teachings beyond the symbols, techniques, develop your personal practice, deepen your understand of Reiki, and discover what it means to live Reiki more fully. Alongside that curiosity, you may feel a growing wish to teach, to create a welcoming space where others can pause, reconnect with themselves and begin their own journey.

My accredited four-day Shinpiden Reiki Master & Teacher Training brings these two paths together in one integrated course. We explore the personal and philosophical foundations of Shinpiden alongside the practical skills and responsibilities of teaching Usui Reiki Ryoho.

There is room for questions, plenty of practice, reflection and discovery. You do not need to arrive with every answer or a perfectly formed plan for your future teaching. Bring your experience, your willingness to learn and your beautifully human self.

One course, with personal practice at its heart

This course combines the deeper learning of Shinpiden with preparation to become a Reiki teacher. You will explore the fourth reiki symbol and its mantra/jumon, deepen your work with the precepts and traditional meditations, and consider the relationship between your own practice and the way you support others. From a deeper understanding of Shinpiden, we move into teaching: communicating the philosophy, guiding practical exercises, giving Reiju and attunements, planning courses and supporting students with care.

These elements are woven together throughout the four days. You will deepen your own experience of Reiki practices, then learn how to explain and guide them clearly when teaching your own students. Your development continues beyond the classroom. Time spent practising, reflecting and preparing your teaching work forms an important part of the learning.

An Eastern-led approach to Usui Reiki Ryoho

My approach centres on the traditional Japanese philosophy and practices of Usui Reiki Ryoho, with an emphasis on meditation, self-enquiry, curiosity, compassion and an awareness of Oneness. At Shinpiden, we explore the invitation to move from consciously doing Reiki towards living with greater presence and naturally being Reiki in everyday life.

The title “Master” does not mean that learning is complete. It marks a deepening commitment to Reiki and, for those who choose to teach, a responsibility towards the students they will support.

We work with the core five elements of the Reiki system as an interconnected whole:

  • The precepts and developing spiritual and mental focus.

  • Traditional techniques and meditations.

  • Hands-on healing.

  • Symbols and mantras/jumon.

  • Reiju and attunements.

As you develop as a teacher, understanding these connections helps you communicate a coherent system and give your students a foundation they can continue to explore.

What you will learn

Deepening your own practice

During the course, you will:

  • Explore the purpose of Shinpiden and what it means to recognise your true bright light.

  • Deepen your understanding of the Reiki precepts through contemplation, chanting and everyday application.

  • Revisit the 5 precepts of Shoden and explore how they develop at Shinpiden.

  • Learn the fourth Reiki symbol, and work with its mantra/jumon.

  • Deepen your relationship with the Okuden symbols and mantras through personal practice and reflection.

  • Explore traditional breathing, meditation and focusing practices.

  • Work with Earth, Heaven and Heart Ki.

  • Deepen your understanding of emptiness and explore what it means to embody your true bright light.

  • Develop greater presence in hands-on healing, with space to loosen expectations and respond sensitively.

  • Reflect on Oneness, compassion and bringing Reiki into your relationships and daily life.

  • Receive Reiju and the Shinpiden attunement as part of your own learning.

Learning to teach Reiki

You will also learn how to:

  • Teach Shoden — Reiki Level 1: introduce the foundations, precepts, self-practice and hands-on healing.

  • Teach Okuden — Reiki Level 2: guide practitioner-level learning, including symbols, mantras/jumon, hands-on healing and distant Reiki.

  • Teach Shinpiden — Reiki Level 3: support students in exploring deeper personal practice and the philosophical teachings.

  • Train future Reiki teachers: understand how to develop and assess the skills others need to teach responsibly.

  • Attune others: learn and practise the attunement methods for each level, including preparation, intention and presence.

  • Give Reiju to others: learn to offer this spiritual blessing with care, humility and respect.

  • Guide meditation, chanting and practical exercises with clear instructions.

  • Explain the purpose of practices and their place within the wider Reiki system.

  • Plan courses with clear aims, a balanced structure and meaningful learning activities.

  • Prepare appropriate manuals, lesson plans and supporting documents.

  • Respond to questions and different experiences without imposing your own interpretation.

  • Give constructive feedback and recognise when a student needs further practice or support.

  • Establish clear completion requirements and assess students fairly.

  • Create a welcoming learning environment with appropriate consent, boundaries and professional standards.

How the four days unfold

The course moves between personal experience, discussion, demonstration and teaching practice. The outline below shows how the learning develops, with room to respond to the student’s/group’s questions and needs.

Day One: Returning to the foundations

We begin by exploring your experience of Reiki, your personal practice and what has drawn you towards Shinpiden and teaching.

We revisit the five elements, and the true meaning of Reiki. The precepts, meditation and hands-on practice provide space to settle, reflect and reconnect.

We also begin considering the relationship between being a student and becoming a teacher: how we listen, communicate and create space for others to learn.

Day Two: Exploring Shinpiden

We deepen the personal and philosophical work through the fourth symbol, its mantra/jumon and further meditation and contemplation.

Traditional Japanese meditations invite exploration of grounding, openness and presence. We consider how these experiences inform hands-on healing and the way we live Reiki.

There will be time to receive, practise, ask questions and begin translating your understanding into clear explanations for others.

Day Three: Sharing the teachings

The focus turns towards the practical work of teaching Shoden, Okuden and Shinpiden.

We explore course planning, guiding practices, demonstrating techniques and balancing explanation with direct experience. You will practise offering Reiju and work with the attunement methods, supported by demonstration and feedback.

We also consider the different people who may come to your courses and how to make learning respectful, accessible and welcoming.

Day Four: Developing your teaching confidence

The final day brings the learning together through practical teaching, further Reiju and attunement practice, feedback and reflection.

We explore assessing students, supporting their continued development and preparing future Reiki practitioner and teachers.

You will identify your strengths, the areas you want to develop and the next steps in preparing to teach. We will also review the work required for successful completion and certification.

Reiju and attunements

Learning to offer Reiju and attunements is an important part of the course.

Alongside the practical methods, we explore preparation, intention, presence and the responsibility involved in offering these experiences to students.

You will have opportunities to observe, practise, ask questions and receive feedback. The emphasis is on developing confidence through understanding and experience, while allowing each recipient their own response.

There is no expectation that everyone should feel the same thing, and no need to promise a particular experience.

Finding your teaching voice

You do not need to become a copy of your teacher and you may already have teaching experience.

You will be encouraged to communicate naturally, drawing on your own experience while remaining clear about the teachings you are sharing. We explore the difference between personal interpretation, lineage teachings and claims that require evidence.

Teaching also involves knowing when to pause, listen or acknowledge that you do not have an answer. Curiosity, honesty and continued learning remain valuable qualities throughout your teaching life.

Teaching with care and integrity

People arrive at Reiki courses with different beliefs, learning needs and personal circumstances.

We explore consent, confidentiality, professional boundaries, safeguarding awareness and the limits of your role. You will consider how to support students who feel uncertain or become emotional, and when further help or referral may be appropriate.

Responsible teaching includes communicating Reiki without diagnosing, guaranteeing outcomes or discouraging appropriate medical or psychological care.

We also consider practical responsibilities such as record keeping, insurance, accurate course descriptions and clear expectations around student support.

Practice, assessment and certification

The four training days (21 hours in total) form part of a wider process of learning and integration.

Successful completion involves demonstrating your understanding and practical competence, alongside the required personal practice, reflection and teaching preparation. Attendance alone does not establish readiness to teach.

Assessment will address both your Shinpiden understanding and your ability to guide others. This includes practical work through case studies, Reiju and attunements, together with written learning and reflection.

Full assessment requirements, submission arrangements and certification criteria will be provided before you book. Where further development is needed, this will be discussed clearly so you understand what to work on.

Who is this course for?

This course is for Reiki Level 2 practitioners or Level 3 advanced/Masters who wish to deepen their personal practice and prepare to teach through an integrated Master & Teacher pathway that is embedded in the traditional teachings of Usui Sensei and traditional Japanese methods and practices.

It may suit you if you:

  • Have an established personal Reiki practice.

  • Have experience of offering Reiki to others.

  • Feel drawn to explore an Eastern-led approach.

  • Are willing to reflect on your understanding and remain open and curious to learning.

  • Want to teach with care, integrity and respect for your students.

  • Can commit to the practice and assessment work alongside the four training days.

You can feel excited and nervous at the same time. There is space for both.

Entry requirements

You must have successfully completed Reiki Level 2 / Okuden, including any completion requirements set by your teacher, and have suitable experience of personal practice and offering Reiki to others.

You do not need to have trained with me before. Students from different Reiki backgrounds and lineages are welcome. We will build on your existing experience while exploring the Eastern-led philosophy and practices at the heart of my teaching.

You do not need to complete my separate Shinpiden course first. The deeper understanding of Shinpiden is included within this four-day programme.

Students who completed their earlier training with another teacher are welcome to enquire. We will discuss your training, lineage, experience and current practice so we can establish whether this course is the right next step. Relevant certificates and details of your previous learning may be requested. Online courses/certificates are not suitable.

A conversation before booking gives us both the opportunity to ask questions and identify any preparation or additional learning that would be helpful.

What this course prepares you to do

On successful completion of the full training and its requirements, you will be prepared to teach Shoden, Okuden and Shinpiden, offer Reiju and attunements, and guide others towards becoming Reiki teachers.

Teaching remains an ongoing practice. You will be encouraged to continue developing your experience, seek support when needed and give yourself time to establish confidence with the levels you teach.

Your own teaching business, insurance and any accreditation you wish to obtain will require the appropriate arrangements.
